Solidne planowanie strategiczne wszystkich działań przedsiębiorstwa ma decydujący wpływ na jego sukces. Strategie zapewniają orientację dla ukierunkowanych działań w ramach przedsiębiorstwa. Szczególnie duże koncerny, takie jak Deutsche Bahn AG, są uzależnione od działań strategicznych, ponieważ wiele decyzji podejmowanych dzisiaj może mieć wpływ na kilka kolejnych lat.
