Dans le cadre de cette étude, nous avons obtenu de la chitosane à partir de l’exosquelette d’Ucides cordatus cordatus, communément appelé crabe-uçá, grâce à un processus de conversion de la chitine en chitosane par réaction conventionnelle et irradiation micro-ondes. Les chitosanes produits ont été caractérisés en fonction de leur degré de désacétylation, de leur viscosité intrinsèque et de leur masse molaire viscosimétrique moyenne, et leurs propriétés ont été évaluées par rapport à un échantillon de chitosane de crabe commercial. L’analyse comparative des échantillons de chitosane produits par les méthodes par irradiation micro-ondes et conventionnelle a montré que la méthode par irradiation est particulièrement avantageuse, car ce procédé a permis une plus grande conversion des groupes acétamido en amino, avec une consommation d’énergie de 10 % par rapport à la méthode conventionnelle, ce qui indique que la méthode est efficace et que le procédé permet un gain de temps et d’énergie, ce qui invite le lecteur à réfléchir à la faisabilité de la méthode par irradiation micro-ondes pour la production de chitosane à l’échelle industrielle.
