O betão em pó reativo (RPC) é um betão de alta resistência e de nova geração, formado a partir de uma combinação especial de materiais constituintes. A composição do betão de pó reativo inclui cimento (cimento Portland normal), areia fina, sílica ativa, pó de quartzo e fibras de aço de alta resistência. O betão de pó reativo está agrupado sob a designação de betão de desempenho ultra-elevado. Este betão tem uma resistência à compressão muito elevada de 200 Mpa, que pode ser melhorada com a introdução de fibras de aço até 800MPa. Esta nova família de betão tem um comportamento dúctil melhorado com uma resistência à flexão de 25MPa a 40MPa O caulino não tem muitas propriedades de cimentação por si só, mas na presença de água, reage com a cal livre, quer do cimento quer de qualquer outra fonte, formando produtos hidratados de ordem superior, que não só aumentam a resistência como também melhoram a durabilidade. Neste livro, foi feita uma análise dos vários estudos realizados sobre RPC incorporados com vários factores.
