В исследовании анализировались представления педагогов детского сада в муниципалитете Мамангуапе, штат Пенсильвания, о гендерных отношениях в дошкольном образовании. Использовались аспекты этнографического подхода в области образования, а также некоторые инструменты, такие как анкета с открытыми вопросами, социально-демографический опросник и диагностический инструмент в интервью с четырьмя педагогами. Учителя продемонстрировали консервативные представления, сходящиеся к грамматическому и гетеронормативному пониманию гендерных отношений. Их взгляды на роли мужчин и женщин в обществе, использование цветов и пространства, имитирующего дом, свидетельствуют о неоднородности их дидактико-педагогических гендерных практик. Подготовка воспитателей детских садов - историческая проблема, особенно если учесть отсутствие постоянного обучения, основанного на гендерных отношениях. Поэтому ясли и дошкольные учреждения в конечном итоге способствуют воспроизводству культурных предрассудков и стигм из-за отсутствия дидактико-педагогической работы, ориентированной на гендерные отношения в образовательной среде.
