Medicinal plants which are common in traditional Chinese medicine remarkably increase signs and symptoms severity of skin diseases such as dermatitis. The most notable natural components which have been used against atopic dermatitis, skin cancer, acne, and skin pigmentation disorders are lupeol, artemetin, epicatechin, curcumin, hydroquinone, and hypericin. Future studies should address the methodologic parameters are warranted to evaluate the therapeutic advantages of Chinese herbal medicine for different skin diseases. Effective therapies for acne target one or more pathways in the pathogenesis of acne, and combined applications of different therapy can give better outcomes than monotherapy.
