Die morphologischen Merkmale, die bei 23 Echinochloa-Zugängen beobachtet wurden, waren Pflanzenhöhe, Halme, Rispen Größe, Ährchenlänge, Anordnung der Ährchen, Gräle (vorhanden oder nicht vorhanden), Farbe der Narbe/Antheren, Samenproduktion/Pflanze, Gewicht von 1000 Samen, Kornausfallcharakteristika, Farbe der Karyopse und Erscheinungsbild der Pflanze (aufrecht/hängend). Die Wirksamkeit von Penoxsulam, Bispyribac-Natrium, Cyhalofop-Butyl, Butachlor und Pretilachlor vor und nach dem Auflaufen bei Echinochloa-Akzessionen wurde untersucht. Physiologische Merkmale wie Blattmembranpermeabilität (%), Lipidperoxidation (MDA-Gehalt), photosynthetische Pigmente, d. h. Chlorophyll a, Chlorophyll b, Carotinoide und Chlorophyllfluoreszenz, wurden ebenfalls erfasst. Cyhalofopbutyl zeigte die höchste Wirksamkeit auf der Grundlage der prozentualen Mortalität und der Verringerung der Trockenmasseakkumulation unter allen getesteten Herbiziden. GR50-Werte über der empfohlenen Herbiziddosis weisen auf eine Herbizidresistenz hin. Die Proteinprofile und Isoenzym-Muster von zehn Echinochloa-Zuglinien wurden im Keimlingsstadium und im Fahnenblattstadium untersucht.
