El vestido del pueblo limeño en el siglo XIX republicano de Angélica Brañez profundiza en la vestimenta del pueblo limeño de aquella época desde la perspectiva de la historia del arte y del diseño. En los cuatro capítulos que lo conforman, la investigadora realiza una aproximación al contexto histórico social, con énfasis en los grupos sociales y en las diferencias de tipos humanos. Además, analiza la correspondencia entre el traje y el espacio público, así como la identidad visual del pueblo mediante sus prendas, usos, moda y estilos.Anatomía, proporciones, paleta cromática, texturas y diseños son detallados profundamente para imaginar con veracidad las prendas más tradicionales como la pollera, el poncho, la manta o el pantalón propios de una Lima que empieza a sentir el impacto de la fabricación industrial. Esta obra es un repaso ilustrativo y curioso sobre nuestro pasado a través de su vestir.
