Viele Wissenschaftler haben diese Einwanderungsfrage eingehend erörtert und kritisch diskutiert, wobei sie die unmittelbaren Auswirkungen und Nachwirkungen sowie die theoretischen und praktischen Begründungen, die Meinungsdiskussionen in der Bevölkerung, die Objektivität solcher Regelungen, die Umsetzungsergebnisse und die Erwartungen der politischen Entscheidungsträger und der öffentlichen Mehrheit bei der Bewertung der Ergebnisse von Einwanderungsregelungen untersucht haben. Die Argumentation beruht also auf dem Mangel an pragmatischen Beweisen für die Auswirkungen von Migrationsregelungen und -plänen.
