In today’s rapidly changing world, where technological advances and shifting job markets challenge traditional education, Micro-credentials have emerged as flexible, targeted certifications that complement degree programs by focusing on specific, practical skills. This study examines the effectiveness of Micro-credentials in demonstrating students’ competencies through a case study involving 31 students and 5 teachers from the Department of English at the University of Tlemcen. Using a student questionnaire and teacher interviews, the research explores perceptions of Micro-credentials and how they enhance traditional assessment methods. The findings, analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively, indicate that Micro-credentials are widely viewed as valuable tools for showcasing and validating students’ skills and knowledge in real-world contexts.
