L’educazione inclusiva, che è il contenuto del nostro primo capitolo, si basa sul diritto di ogni bambino a far parte della vita scolastica comune e a ricevere esperienze didattiche ed educative adeguate. La differenziazione, di cui si parla nel secondo capitolo, è forse la proposta più realistica per l’attuazione di pratiche di individualizzazione incentrate sul bambino e sembra rispondere in modo dinamico all’esigenza di efficacia didattica nelle classi contemporanee. Il gioco, che è l’oggetto del nostro terzo capitolo, valorizza la pratica didattica in quanto ha un ruolo chiave nei contesti prescolari e scolastici. Occorre esplorare i modi in cui gli insegnanti possono insegnare e trasmettere valori che sono parte integrante della democrazia. Lo dimostriamo nel quarto capitolo, che è un esempio di applicazione dell’educazione inclusiva in una scuola democratica. Tutto ciò è difficile da attuare senza affrontare la questione del successo della transizione, che è l’oggetto del nostro quinto capitolo ed è un argomento di studio nella comunità scientifica per identificare modi e fattori per migliorare le esperienze dei bambini con sviluppo tipico e non tipico e delle loro famiglie.
