L’infiltration est un paramètre important dans la planification de l’irrigation. Une étude a été entreprise pour mesurer l’infiltration sur différentes couvertures de sol. L’infiltration a été mesurée à l’aide d’un infiltromètre à double anneau et les équations d’infiltration ont été développées. Les différentes propriétés du sol ont également été déterminées pour les couvertures de terres cultivées et les couvertures de terres défrichées. Il a été constaté que le taux d’infiltration moyen était de 7,5 cm/h pour les sols cultivés et de 5,07 cm/h pour les sols dénudés. La teneur en eau moyenne, la densité apparente et la capacité au champ sont respectivement de 14,87 %, 1,78 gm/cc et 18,4 % pour la couverture végétale cultivée. La teneur en eau moyenne, la densité apparente et la capacité au champ sont respectivement de 12,79 %, 1,61 gm/cc et 8,47 % pour la couverture végétale dénudée.
