Länder - Mittelalter, Frühe Neuzeit, Note: 1,3, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Arbeit geht der Frage nach, wie sich die Memoria im russischen Adel entwickelte und entfaltete. Der Zeitraum wird auf das 16. Jahrhunderts eingeschränkt, den geographischen Schwerpunkt bildet der Ort Volokolamsk, indem das Iosif- Kloster beheimatet ist. Dieses, 1479 von Iosif Sanin gegründete Klostern, spielte beim Ausbau der monastischen Totensorge eine Führungsrolle.1 Es liegen zahlreiche Quellen zur Geschichte dieser Stätte vor, besonders bemerkenswert ist dabei der Zeitraum zwischen 1479 bis 1612. Die größte Quellendichte lässt sich zwischen den Jahren 1530 und 1590 festmachen, eine Phase, in der das Iosif- Kloster seine höchste Blüte erreichte. Die Quellengrundlage dieser Arbeit bildet das `Speisungsbuch` (Kornmovojspisok ) des Iosif- Klosters, dass der Historiker Ludwig Steindorff übersetzt und herausgegeben hat.2 In diesem Buch sind die Termine der Speisungen zum Totengedenken, sowie die Stiftungen, die die Speisung begründen, verzeichnet. Aus den erbrachten Stiftungsleistungen ist es möglich, Rückschlüsse auf Status und Vermögen der verzeichneten Personen zu ziehen. Zunächst werde ich auf die Entwicklungslinien der Memoria in Altrussland eingehen, wobei erst einmal der Begriff der Memoria geklärt werden soll. Es folgt ein Blick auf die unterschiedlichen Formen der Memoria, die für das 16. Jahrhundert in Altrussland charakteristisch waren. Das Verhältnis des Adels zur Memoria steht danach im Blickpunkt der Betrachtung, wobei das Glaubensbekenntnis dieser sozialen Gruppe eine besondere Berücksichtigung erfahren soll. Die Rolle des Adels bei der Gründung des Iosif- Klosters, sowie die Entwicklung des Stiftungsverhaltens und ihre Bedeutung werden im darauf folgenden Kapitel besprochen. Anhand des Speisungsbuches sollen die Stiftungen einer genaueren Analyse unterzoge
