O estudo comparou os efeitos de diferentes tamanhos de sacos de polietileno na germinação e crescimento de mudas de cajueiro. O tamanho pequeno do saco (6×9 polegadas) produziu o tempo de germinação mais curto e a percentagem de germinação mais elevada, enquanto o tamanho grande do saco (10×15 polegadas) permitiu um desenvolvimento superior das plântulas em termos de altura da planta, número de folhas e área foliar.Embora tenham ocorrido variações entre os tratamentos, não foram encontradas diferenças significativas na data ou percentagem de germinação. No entanto, foram registadas diferenças significativas na altura das plantas em diferentes fases de crescimento (PH1, PH2, PH3), bem como no número de folhas e na área foliar.O estudo recomenda a utilização de sacos de polietileno maiores (10×15 polegadas) para um crescimento ótimo das plântulas de cajueiro e salienta a importância de monitorizar as condições do viveiro para melhorar a germinação e o desempenho geral. Além disso, a investigação incorporou literatura relevante sobre botânica do caju, propagação, gestão de viveiros, controlo de pragas, importância económica e valor acrescentado para reforçar as conclusões.
