Este estudo piloto teve como objetivo examinar a eficácia da implementação da estratégia de autorregulação na escrita persuasiva numa escola privada dos subúrbios de Beirute-Líbano. Os participantes eram 25 alunos do quarto ano, com idades compreendidas entre os 9 e os 10 anos. A intervenção decorreu durante um período de 2 meses no ano de 2016, com a introdução de uma nova estratégia de escrita concebida para monitorizar, regular e controlar as práticas de aprendizagem dos alunos. Esta estratégia de treino, inspirada no trabalho de Graham e Harris (2003), incluía métodos de instrução direta e de modelação cognitiva, bem como fases de prática guiada e independente para ajudar os alunos a adquirir estratégias eficazes de planificação e de elaboração de composições.
