Eine megaloblastische Anämie tritt bei Männern (57,4 %) häufiger auf als bei Frauen (42,5 %).Die am stärksten betroffene Altersgruppe ist 31-70 Jahre, sowohl bei Männern als auch bei Frauen.Von den insgesamt 50 Fällen wiesen 31 Fälle einen Mangel an Vitamin B12 auf. Aus der obigen Studie lässt sich schließen, dass die Gesamtinzidenz des Vitamin-B12-Mangels 62 % beträgt.Die Ergebnisse deuten darauf hin, dass bei reduzierten Hämoglobinwerten oder abnormalen Hämoglobinwerten die MCV-Werte erhöht sind.In der vorliegenden Studie wiesen 62 % der Patienten einen Vitamin-B12-Mangel und 80 % der Patienten einen erhöhten MCV-Wert auf.
