Der Delta-Roboter basiert auf dem Konzept eines Parallelroboters. Der Parallelroboter ist ein bekanntes Konzept, allerdings gibt es nur sehr wenige Unternehmen oder Anwendungen, die diesen Robotertyp einsetzen. In diesem Buch werden der Entwurf und die Entwicklung des Delta-Roboters der Massey University untersucht, der im Rahmen der Anforderungen des Abschlussprojekts unseres Bachelor-Studiums erstellt wurde. Das Projekt wurde in zwei Teile gegliedert: den mechanischen Entwurf und das Steuerungssystem. Dieses Buch behandelt die mechanischen Überlegungen und Aspekte, die in die mechanische Konstruktion eingeflossen sind, sowie einen umfassenden Überblick über die elektronischen und softwaregesteuerten Steuerungen des Roboters.
