Maria of Padua

'Maria of Padua: One of S. Thérèse’s Little Legion' offers a profound glimpse into the spiritual journey of a devoted soul who embraced the 'Little Way' of St. Thérèse of Lisieux. Written by Benedict Williamson, this work chronicles the life and virtues of Maria, a young woman from Padua whose existence was defined by her quiet holiness and her adherence to the path of spiritual childhood. As a member of what Williamson terms the 'Little Legion,' Maria exemplifies the transformative power of simple faith and total surrender to the divine will. The narrative delves into Maria’s internal experiences, her struggles, and her ultimate commitment to the ideals championed by the Little Flower. Through her story, readers are invited to explore the essence of Catholic devotion in the early 20th century, characterized by a deep personal relationship with God and a commitment to sanctity in everyday life. This biography serves not only as a record of a specific life but also as an inspirational guide for those seeking to follow the path of St. Thérèse. 'Maria of Padua: One of S. Thérèse’s Little Legion' remains a significant contribution to Catholic hagiography, illustrating how the influence of a great saint can inspire extraordinary devotion in ordinary people. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
