Os sistemas multibiométricos resolvem eficazmente o problema dos dados ruidosos. Quando a informação adquirida a partir de um traço biométrico é corrompida por ruído, é possível utilizar a informação adquirida a partir do outro traço biométrico. Alguns quadros têm igualmente em conta a natureza dos sinais biométricos de entrada obtidos durante o processo de combinação. Estimar a qualidade dos dados biométricos adquiridos é, por si só, um problema difícil. No entanto, se forem efectuados de forma adequada, os sistemas multibiométricos obtêm vantagens significativas. Um quadro multibiométrico funciona como um quadro tolerante a falhas, continuando a trabalhar mesmo quando os dados de certas fontes biométricas não são fiáveis devido a falhas nos sensores ou na programação ou ao controlo deliberado do cliente. A tolerância a falhas é geralmente desejável em sistemas de autenticação que envolvem um grande número de indivíduos.
