Le haricot mungo (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek) est une légumineuse importante qui joue un rôle essentiel dans l’apport en protéines de la population végétarienne souffrant de malnutrition dans le pays. Il est sujet à plusieurs maladies. Parmi celles-ci, la tache foliaire causée par Cercospora canescens Ellis & Martin est la maladie la plus répandue et la plus destructrice en Inde. Elle entraîne chaque année environ 47 % de pertes de rendement. Auparavant, la lutte contre la tache foliaire causée par Cercospora sur le haricot mungo s’effectuait principalement à l’aide de fongicides afin de minimiser les pertes de rendement. Cette publication traite principalement de différents aspects tels que l’isolement, le criblage variétal à la recherche de sources résistantes, l’évaluation in vitro d’extraits végétaux et de produits chimiques, ainsi que la lutte intégrée contre la tache foliaire causée par Cercospora sur le haricot mungo.
