Aujourd’hui, nous voyons que le bwiti a une place très importante chez les Pové. Ce bwiti qui serait d’origine pygmée aurait été transmis aux Apindji, voisins des Pygmées. D’après plusieurs sources orales, le bwiti aurait été transmis aux Pové par les Massango, leurs voisins aux alentours du Mont Iboundji. Notons que ce bwiti, reçu par des Massango aurait été développé par les Pové. Parmi toutes les branches du bwiti misoko, les Pové pratiquent plus le ngondè, mabundi et mioba. Rappelons que dans la province de l’Ogooué-Lolo, seule une famille est reconnue en tant que mioba.
