L’un des défis auxquels l’industrie est confrontée en matière de construction écologique est la question de savoir ce qui est ou n’est pas considéré comme écologique. En effet, l’utilisation des techniques de construction écologique est volontaire et peut être très variable. Afin de normaliser les pratiques de construction écologique et de mesurer l’efficacité des techniques, différents systèmes de certification et d’évaluation ont été développés à l’échelle mondiale. En fin de compte, les outils d’évaluation de la construction écologique servent de mécanisme pour stimuler l’adoption et la mise en œuvre de la construction écologique. L’objectif de cette étude était donc d’examiner les facteurs susceptibles d’entraver la croissance ou l’utilisation de ces systèmes, ainsi que les raisons pour lesquelles le secteur de la construction est réticent à l’idée d’obtenir une notation.
