Lily and the Little Star

Ten-year-old Lily Vale has begun to believe that childhood wonder is something she must leave behind. After classmates mock her stories and drawings, Lily packs away years of journals, paintings, and fairy tales into a cardboard box labeled 'OLD TOYS.' Even her father, Maximilian, urges her to stop chasing imaginary wonders and learn to live in the practical world. Then, at midnight, the sky tears open.A strange celestial event sends a tiny living star crashing into Lily’s garden. The little creature is trapped in the earth, its fragile light fading as the cold ground slowly drains away its celestial life. Lily quickly discovers that the fallen star has only a few hours before dawn transforms it into lifeless glass.Despite everything she has been told about growing up, Lily cannot abandon a creature that needs her. Wrapping the fragile star in her woolen scarf, she begins a desperate journey to help it return home before sunrise. Along the way, the magical world hidden behind her childhood stories begins to reveal itself again.Lily discovers that the stars are not distant objects but living anchors connected to ancient forces of faith, memory, wonder, and love. The mysterious celestial spark is connected to the stories she once believed in, to her mother’s memories, and to a larger magical relationship between the heavens and the human world. As Lily follows clues through the forest and the strange boundary between earth and sky, she must overcome fear, doubt, and the voice inside her that insists she is too old to believe. Her greatest challenge is not simply protecting the little star. It is learning that imagination is not weakness, and that the stories she tried to bury may contain the very strength she needs. Her journey also changes her relationship with her father. Maximilian has spent years trying to protect Lily from disappointment by keeping her grounded in practical reality, but Lily’s courage forces him to reconsider everything he believed about wonder and the stories connected to his late wife, Genevieve. With its luminous celestial magic, enchanted forests, heartfelt family relationships, and emotional coming-of-age journey, Lily and the Little Star is a tender fantasy about believing again. At its heart is a simple but powerful idea: growing up does not mean abandoning wonder. Sometimes the stories we are told to forget are the very stories that help keep the lights on.
