Global climate change has various adverse impacts on our planet Earth. Of these impacts, one of the major one is lightning. The numbers of lightning incidents are increasing at an alarming rate throughout the world and particular in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra state of India. In the light of these conditions, this book attempts to explore the incidents of lightning at India level, Maharashtra state level and at Vidarbha level. Moreover, the lightning analysis was carried out for the previous 40 years for number on incidents, casualties for human being and animals from the same. The science of the lightning is explained. The preventive measure suggests avoiding and protecting an individual from the lightning.
