Cet ouvrage présente des méthodes de caractérisation environnementale des écosystèmes estuariens, notamment dans l’estuaire du fleuve Bacanga, dont la dynamique naturelle a été altérée par la construction d’un barrage à cet endroit. L’ouvrage permet au lecteur de connaître les méthodes permettant de déterminer la qualité géochimique et la qualité de l’eau d’un écosystème estuarien, ainsi que d’identifier les effets d’un barrage sur la qualité d’un estuaire et, par conséquent, sur l’activité de pêche exercée par la population riveraine. Il comprend également un ensemble d’images montrant l’évolution du paysage local autour du barrage en l’espace de 60 ans. Cependant, l’auteur vise à fournir au lecteur des informations importantes pour le développement professionnel et le développement des connaissances environnementales d’un écosystème estuarien.
