Ce livre fournit des informations sur l’isolement des bactéries tolérantes au chrome et sur leur rôle potentiel dans la promotion de la croissance du blé dans un sol contaminé par le chrome. Des bactéries favorisant la croissance des plantes (PGPB) ont été isolées du sol et examinées pour leur potentiel de tolérance au chrome. Les isolats de PGPB tolérants au chrome ont ensuite été évalués pour leur capacité à réduire le Cr(VI) en Cr(III). Enfin, les PGPB efficaces ont été utilisés pour atténuer le stress du chrome sur le blé dans une expérience en pot. Muhammad Yahya Khan a travaillé sur cet aspect au cours de son travail de recherche de MSc (Hons) Agriculture et ce livre est une thèse de sa recherche de master.
