Ogni realtà funziona grazie ad un insieme di leggi che sono le leggi del suo funzionamento. Esse ne regolano i processi e gli eventi. Quando le leggi vengono infrante, il funzionamento si interrompe. Ad esempio: per mettere in movimento l’automobile bisogna infilare la chiave, spingere la frizione, inserire la marcia, accendere il motore, rilasciare la frizione e premere l’acceleratore. Se non si compiono in maniera corretta tutte queste operazioni l’automobile non parte. Le leggi di funzionamento servono a garantire il funzionamento della realtà che governano e anche ad aprire la porta alle possibilità di sviluppo e di evoluzione che quella realtà offre. La vita sulla Terra è una realtà funzionante. In relazione ad essa possiamo chiederci: Quali leggi governano il funzionamento della vita sulla Terra? Quali possibilità di evoluzione questa realtà offre all’uomo?
