Sherlock Holmes, personaje ficticio creado en 1887 por Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, es un detective asesor del Londres de finales del siglo XIX, que destaca por su inteligencia y hábil uso de la observación y el razonamiento deductivo para resolver casos difíciles.
