Dans une interview exclusive accordée à l’agence de presse afghane Pajhwok, le porte-parole de l’OTAN, le général de brigade Charlie Cleveland, a confirmé l’existence de plus de 1 000 combattants de Daesh dans la province de Jalalabad. Le 19 avril 2016, le diplomate russe Zamir Kabulov a averti que plus de 10 000 terroristes entraînés de l’État islamique se préparaient à entrer en Asie centrale. La semaine dernière, Abdul Rashid Dostum a exprimé la même inquiétude et averti que certains cercles internes (gouvernementaux) et étrangers voulaient transporter plus de 7 500 combattants de Daesh (Tchétchènes, Ouzbeks, Tadjiks, Irakiens, Syriens, Libanais et Libyens) dans certaines parties des provinces du Nord.
