Il cotone è la materia prima tessile di base lavorata in tutto il mondo, nonostante la forte concorrenza di altre fibre naturali e fibre artificiali in forte sviluppo. Per anni la qualità del cotone è stata valutata in modo organolettico dai classificatori. Oggi si sta pensando di sostituire la classificazione visiva soggettiva con una misurazione strumentale oggettiva. Il grado di colore del cotone è determinato dai tradizionali attributi del colore del cotone: il grado di riflettanza (Rd) e il giallore (+b), che vengono misurati strumentalmente. Lo scopo di questo lavoro è stato quello di chiarire il significato degli attributi tradizionali del colore del cotone e le modalità di misurazione. Inoltre, è stata fornita una dimostrazione per il classificatore e la classificazione strumentale del colore, oltre a trarre vantaggio da alcuni articoli precedenti nell’utilizzo dei diversi aspetti degli attributi del colore del cotone. Questo lavoro fornisce le basi e le informazioni necessarie a chi è interessato e lavora nel campo della classificazione del cotone.
