Christoph Schneider untersucht Erlebnisse von Resorturlaubern. Das Ziel seiner Forschung ist es, zu verstehen, wie und in welchen Situationen aus Sicht des Reisenden Eindrücke aufgenommen werden, Erlebnisse entstehen und diese mit Merkmalen der jeweiligen Destinations- bzw. Resortmarke in Verbindung gebracht werden. Hierzu werden Primärdaten von Reisenden in drei verschiedenen Regionen erhoben. Als Ergebnis steht das 'Integrative Modell der Erlebniskreation in Ferienwelten', welches die drei Dimensionen Art des Reizes, Individuum und Kontext beinhaltet. Die Reize werden systematisch kategorisiert, Personas werden vorgestellt und beschrieben, sowie Archetypen des Verhältnisses von Resort und Destination definiert.
