Anhand des Briefwechsels zwischen dem Staats- und Parteichefs der UdSSR Chruschtschow und des amerikanischen Präsidenten J.F.Kennedy wird verdeutlicht, dass - über alle ideologischen und wirtschaftlichen Dimensionen hinweg - die Persönlichkeit und der Verstand der zwei Staatsoberhäupter der entscheidende Auslöser war, um die Kubakrise „friedlich“ zu beenden.
