Part travel journal and part spiritual diary, Journey to the Heart chronicles the author’s journey across America by bus and then his travels as a pilgrim-tourist in Israel and Europe. Seeking to regain is emotional health as well as discover the heart of the Western spiritual tradition, the author journeys to the Holy Land to walk in the footsteps of Jesus. Later, he travels to Europe, where he resides in a religious community in the South of France, then lives the literary life in Paris. Through his various experiences, the author reflects on the nature of God, suffering, illness, and art, all in the attempt to rebuild his life and heal his wounded soul.
