Jack’s Horseshoe: Or What The Waugroo Bitters Did is a novel written by American author Edward Sylvester Ellis and first published in 1883. The story follows the adventures of Jack, a young boy who lives in a small town in the American West. Jack is a skilled horseman and is known for his ability to ride any horse, no matter how wild or unruly. One day, Jack discovers a mysterious horseshoe that seems to give him the power to control any horse he rides. As Jack begins to use the horseshoe to tame wild horses, he also becomes involved in a plot to stop a group of outlaws who are terrorizing the town. Along the way, Jack meets a cast of colorful characters, including a Native American chief, a beautiful young woman, and a group of cowboys. The story also involves a subplot about a magical elixir called Waugroo Bitters, which is said to have powerful healing properties. When Jack’s father becomes seriously ill, Jack sets out to find the ingredients for the bitters in order to save his father’s life.Overall, Jack’s Horseshoe is a thrilling adventure story that combines elements of Western, fantasy, and mystery genres. It is a classic tale of heroism, courage, and the power of friendship and family. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
