Por conseguinte, o documento está em conformidade com os requisitos científicos relevantes e fornece ao leitor informações sobre os primeiros ensaios de produção de sementes de suínos no Burkina Faso.A procura de carne de suíno no Burkina Faso está a aumentar constantemente, num contexto de baixa produtividade das raças existentes. O desenvolvimento da produção de suínos exige o recurso às biotecnologias animais. O objetivo deste estudo é contribuir para a melhoria da produtividade da espécie suína no Burkina Faso. A tecnologia do sémen suíno foi desenvolvida na estação de reprodução de Loumbila. A metodologia consistiu na formação e na recolha de sémen de 08 varrascos de raça pura introduzidos na estação. O sémen foi submetido a análises macroscópicas e microscópicas a fim de avaliar a sua qualidade e orientar a tomada de decisões sobre a sua conservação e utilização na inseminação artificial. O número de ejaculados colhidos foi de 33, com um volume total de 4296,5 ml de 5 varrascos com idade de [15 - 16] meses que se reproduziram favoravelmente.
