The tomato is one of the most widely consumed fruit vegetables in the world. However, its production is severely compromised by the action of numerous insect pests and diseases. To deal with these, growers resort to synthetic chemical pest control. Unfortunately, these synthetic products cause many health problems for humans, plants, animals and the environment. Hence the resurgence of many unknown pathologies in society. By way of solution, alternatives are proposed through the use of aqueous extracts of insecticidal plants such as tobacco and jalousie flower at different doses (30, 40 and 50¨%) is strongly recommended. The results of this work showed that aqueous extracts of tobacco and jalousie flower at the 50% dose achieved efficacy comparable to that of the synthetic chemical already registered. The survival of man and his environment is a major concern these days. This has given rise to the concept of 'one health', which takes into account the global health of the planet.
