Este estudo busca refletir as concepções de avaliação no ensino-aprendizagem em Matemática através de uma retrospectiva histórica do Ensino da Matemática e um breve relato do que atualmente se considera tendência no ensino e na avaliação, tendo em vista que um estudo atento da história do Ensino da Matemática possa instruir os profissionais da educação que encaram o ensino como uma constante prática reflexiva, e a avaliação enquanto parte da prática pedagógica. Propomos neste estudo mostrar aos professores em formação e em serviço uma síntese das principais tendências atuais referentes à Educação Matemática, para que estes tenham subsídios na construção de sua prática, revelando a importância da mescla das mesmas para que haja um ensino que supere as dificuldades encontradas no processo de aprendizagem do aluno.
