Inflation at the Cross Roads is a historical account of the rise and fall of the Unlimited Trust and Confidence Company of Confederate X Roads, written by David Ross Locke and originally published in 1875. The book chronicles the story of the company’s founder, who amassed a great fortune through dubious means and used his wealth to manipulate the financial markets and inflate the value of his company’s stock. As the company’s bubble grew, so too did the public’s trust and confidence in it, leading to a frenzy of speculation and investment. However, when the truth about the company’s fraudulent practices was finally revealed, the bubble burst and the stock plummeted, leaving thousands of investors penniless. Locke’s book offers a cautionary tale about the dangers of unchecked greed and the importance of transparency and accountability in business.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
