A utilização de sementes de qualidade sanitária elevada é de extrema importância, pois evita a disseminação de patógenos e a introdução de doenças em áreas onde estas inexistem. Considerando a importância da cultura do milho para a Paraíba, foram realizadas por ocasião das épocas de plantio dos anos de 2007 e 2008, coletas de sementes de milho (Zea mays L.) em áreas produtoras de municípios das microrregiões de Guarabira (Guarabira, Alagoinha e Mulungu), Brejo (Alagoa Grande e Areia) e Itabaiana (Itabaiana e Gurinhém), para a determinação da micoflora, para tando, o método de incubação foi o do papel de filtro umedecido.
