Les effets des médias d’information traditionnels sur la compréhension et la mémorisation ont été l’un des principaux sujets de recherche dans les études de communication. Avec l’arrivée d’Internet et des développements technologiques ultérieurs qui ont conduit à la convergence des instruments médiatiques, la question est devenue plus complexe que jamais. L’objectif de la présente étude est d’évaluer les effets et la préférence des formats de présentation simples ou composés sur la compréhension et la mémorisation des étudiants universitaires en ce qui concerne l’obtention des nouvelles. Dans cette étude, les formats de présentation simples utilisés sont : texte, audio, vidéo ; les formats de présentation doubles sont : texte-audio, texte-vidéo ; et audio-vidéo-texte comme format de présentation triple.
