The reason behind the rather lighthearted title of the book will become obvious fairly early. This is a true story which commenced with George having a serious fall and sustain some fractures which, partly because of his age required a fairly long period of hospitalisation. The story takes you through all of the necessary procedures involving doctors and nurses as well as nurses aides, physiotherapists and at almost every turn George encountered episodes out of the ordinary which without exception give rise to a great deal of amusement. The most common of such episodes tend to relate to the failures to observe expected standards of behaviour. Through the second part of the book George took the opportunity of making some lighthearted but fairly critical comments aimed at inefficiencies in these institutions due to lack of funding.
