Questo lavoro, che fa parte della linea di ricerca 'Discorso, Arti, Media e Società', si propone di stabilire relazioni tra parole e immagini nelle opere di Leonardo Da Vinci (1452 - 1519), cercando di individuare come il pittore abbia portato avanti un dialogo tra arte e scienza. A tal fine, è stato effettuato uno studio panoramico delle manifestazioni artistiche del periodo rinascimentale e dell’inserimento del pittore in questo periodo. Successivamente, nell’ambito delle procedure analitiche dell’analisi del discorso francese (Pêcheux), sono stati analizzati la posizione del soggetto e le formazioni ideologiche attraverso cui si muove, utilizzando i meccanismi della parafrasi e della polisemia. Per osservare il rapporto tra parola e immagine e per stabilire un dialogo tra arte e scienza, si è fatto ricorso alla teoria semiotica di Peirce, utilizzando concetti e classificazioni di segni per analizzare le immagini e i testi verbali di Da Vinci. Con questa ricerca speriamo di vedere che Da Vinci ha realizzato il suo progetto artistico basandosi interamente su una metodologia scientifica della pittura, o meglio, dai suoi codici, ha stabilito una teoria della pittura e l’ha applicata alle sue tele.
