Per essere sviluppata e stimolata, la lettura dipende da fattori esterni che contribuiscono all’efficienza e alla formazione di abitudini di lettura. Le strategie utilizzate sono estremamente importanti se si vuole che l’abitudine alla lettura diventi un atto piacevole e non solo obbligatorio. La biblioteca scolastica dovrebbe essere un ambiente accogliente, in grado di offrire opzioni che raggiungano lettori diversi, rispettandone le scelte, le culture e le fasce d’età. All’interno della scuola è necessario demistificare l’ambiente come utilizzato solo per la ricerca e il lavoro obbligatorio. Come afferma Paulo Freire (2002), la lettura del mondo precede la lettura della parola. Ogni lettore ha le proprie esperienze che devono e possono essere utilizzate. L’obiettivo delle varie attività svolte è stato quello di fornire a tutti i lettori l’opportunità di leggere e imparare in modo da trasformarla in un’azione efficace unita al divertimento e alla socializzazione della conoscenza. I metodi, le risorse e le attività sviluppate avevano lo scopo di ampliare le conoscenze degli studenti lettori, diversificando i testi in grado di convincere il lettore e di inserirlo nel processo, senza pretendere risultati.
