Nonostante la proliferazione di progetti per l’integrazione delle TIC nelle scuole togolesi, in particolare a livello secondario, va detto che, a nostra conoscenza, ci sono pochissimi studi sulle TIC nell’istruzione secondaria, e ancora meno sugli insegnanti. L’obiettivo del nostro studio esplorativo è analizzare le conoscenze e le competenze tecniche degli insegnanti di scuola secondaria nell’uso delle TIC, secondo il modello di C. Raby (2004). Abbiamo inviato un questionario e un test di conoscenza tecnica a 140 insegnanti. I risultati mostrano che gli insegnanti hanno un buon livello di tecno-conoscenza e un livello abbastanza alto di tecno-competenza per quanto riguarda l’uso personale e professionale delle TIC. Tuttavia, il loro livello di competenza nell’uso pedagogico delle TIC era solo discreto. Questi risultati sollevano preoccupazioni circa la capacità degli insegnanti di scuola secondaria di integrare efficacemente le TIC nella loro pratica didattica e suggeriscono la necessità di rafforzare le loro competenze in materia. La formazione deve essere considerata una priorità per garantire il successo della politica sulle TIC in Togo.
