Nicht fermentierende gramnegative Bazillen stellen eine zunehmende Bedrohung für die öffentliche Gesundheit dar. In dieser Studie, die in einem Universitätskrankenhaus in Zentraltunesien durchgeführt wurde, wurde ein epidemiologisches und bakteriologisches Profil der zwischen 2019 und 2022 isolierten Stämme erstellt. Die Mehrheit der Arten waren Pseudomonas aeruginosa (51,8 %), Acinetobacter baumannii und Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, die zusammen 93,5 % der Isolate ausmachten. Pseudomonas aeruginosa ist aufgrund seiner intrinsischen Resistenz und seiner Fähigkeit, neue Resistenzmechanismen zu erwerben, ein Beispiel für die Dringlichkeit innovativer therapeutischer Strategien. Die Entwicklung der Stämme vonAcinetobacter baumannii und Stenotrophomonas maltophilia während der COVID-19-Pandemie zeugt von einem besorgniserregenden Trend. Der massive Einsatz empirischer Antibiotikatherapie begünstigt die Entstehung hochresistenter Stämme und lässt therapeutische Sackgassen befürchten. Schließlich unterstreicht das unerwartete Auftreten von Comamonas-Infektionen, insbesondere Peritonitis, die Notwendigkeit einer erhöhten Wachsamkeit gegenüber neu auftretenden Spezies und ihren klinischen Auswirkungen bei gefährdeten Patienten.
