Il Brasile possiede grandi riserve di granito e un grande potenziale per la sua industrializzazione. Tuttavia, le industrie di lavorazione del granito devono affrontare problemi legati alla produzione di grandi quantità di rifiuti, che causano impatti ambientali. Per realizzare un lavoro a lungo termine che rispetti l’ambiente e gli esseri umani, sono stati condotti diversi studi sul riutilizzo di questi rifiuti. Alcuni di questi materiali sono stati utilizzati per il conferimento in discarica nell’edilizia civile e sono stati utilizzati come materiale alternativo per la produzione di mattoni in terra-cemento e materiali refrattari. Su questa base, questo libro presenta uno studio sul potenziale uso agricolo degli scarti dell’attività industriale di segagione dei blocchi di granito come correttivo per i terreni acidi, migliorando così le caratteristiche chimiche del suolo, e anche come fonte di nutrienti per le piante. Questo libro presenta quindi la possibilità di riutilizzare questo materiale per ridurre l’impatto ambientale generato dall’industria di lavorazione del granito, oltre a offrire un’alternativa agricola per attribuire valore agli scarti.
