When I wrote the poem 'Light the Light,' I had no idea I wanted to be a writer. I had given a copy to my mom and forgotten about it. When she presented me with a hand-stitched sampler with the poem on it a few years later, I was truly surprised...barely remembering that I’d even written it! Isn’t it cool? Our moms are the best. What you are about to read represents twenty years of musings. You will meet some funny and sad characters, and you will know me. Author Bio: Kathryn Atkins was adopted. Yes. It was my adopted mom that did the sampler. It was she that encouraged Kathryn to play the piano, dance, and tackle life freely. It was Kathryn’s dad that encouraged her to get an MBA. Kathryn is married, has two grown sons, and works hard to inspire fellow writers through the California Writers Club.
