Il Camerun, avendo compreso ciò, ha redatto nel luglio 2016 un documento intitolato 'Linee guida per l’inventario di sfruttamento', per una migliore gestione del proprio patrimonio forestale. Questo libro fornisce indicazioni sulle tecniche da utilizzare per geolocalizzare gli alberi e presentare i risultati dell’inventario. È in linea con questo lavoro che abbiamo ritenuto opportuno scrivere questo manuale pratico, che fornisce informazioni dettagliate sulla gestione approfondita degli strumenti GIS sulla gestione cartografica degli inventari forestali. Il suo ruolo è quello di guidare gli utenti passo dopo passo su come iniziare con QGIS, dall’installazione alla progettazione di mappe di inventario operative su scala normativa, rispettando il posizionamento geografico di tutte le basi degli alberi e degli altri usi del territorio elencati durante il lavoro di inventario. È diviso in sei capitoli.
