Friday’s Child is the story of God’s work in my life. His angels watched over and protected me from the day I was born. Long before I chose to be baptized, He laid out my path, knowing I would see the light many years and many heartbreaks later. As we grow older, our past begins to make sense, and patterns emerge. What I couldn’t understand at twenty years old became clear at sixty. Looking at my past through the Word of God gives meaning and insight into my life’s trials. Before this writing, I was a very different person. This is a story of redemption, but much like the Bible, it includes incest, rape, drugs, adulty, suicide, and subjects unsuitable for young people. It is not my intention to 'out' any secrets, point fingers, or lay blame. I have sinned as much as, if not more than, anyone mentioned in this book. I will only brush on many anecdotes, leaving others to share the details of their stories if they wish.In this manuscript, I face the darkest parts of my soul and share my sins in the hope that you will see what the Lord has done in my life. You cannot know the true power of God’s Grace unless you understand the great lengths the devil will go to destroy you. I’m only able to understand this after my salvation in 2021 when faced with the greatest challenge of my life. It is because of sin that I have found the Lord Jesus Christ. This work was inspired by several books, including, A Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren, Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, The Indwelling Life of Christ by Major W. Ian Thomas, and In the Company of Jesus by Bill Donahue. Of course, the Holy Bible, in its many translations, gave me tremendous inspiration and guidance throughout these months of writing.
