Sie küßte zuerst die Zwillinge, die umschlungen nebeneinander ruhten, dann kam sie zu ihm, und wie sie sich zu ihm herabbeugte, hörte er sie flüstern: 'Gott, gib mir Kraft! Es muß ja sein.' Da ahnte er, daß etwas Außergewöhnliches sich vorbereitete.' Hermann Sudermann (1857-1928) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller und Bühnenautor.
