Hornos de Cal é um testemunho de montanha ou escala tectónica, que pelos seus relevantes valores naturais foi declarado elemento natural excecional, mas não foi estudada a sua flora nem a vegetação presente no seu território. Neste trabalho abordamos o tema, sabendo que a sua flora está representada por 259 espécies pertencentes a 195 géneros e 77 famílias botânicas. Existem 20 espécies endémicas exclusivas de Cuba e uma espécie está ameaçada de extinção.A vegetação do Morro do Cardíaco apresenta representações de várias formações vegetais como: floresta mesófila semidecídua, floresta microfila semidecídua e mangue secundário.
